Compilar kernel

Desde hace mucho tiempo he intentado compilar un kernel para el Ace pero no lo he cnsiguido por dos cosas:
¿Cómo tiene que quedar el makefile, si estoy usando el toolchain de linaro en vez de gcc de google?
¿Qué carpeta de linaro debo agregar al PATH de .bashrc en Ubuntu 12.04?
