Portar rom galaxy note 8 en nuestro Galaxy note
Creo que no está puesto este tema de xda donde un compañero intenta portar la nueva rom con mas características que el software del Galaxy note II a nuestro pequeño.
Lo cuelgo por si hay algún cocinero que quiera probar y porque pienso que es una gran noticia ya que si esto fuera posible imagino que si el galaxy note 8 recibe el android 5.0 quizás nosotros podamos tenerlo también. Porting the Galaxy NOTE 8 ROM on NOTE 1 Just thought I might share this experience for those who are foolish enough like me. You must understand I am not a developer but I love to tinker. While most are busy porting apps, wallpapers, ringtones, etc from the Galaxy S4, I thought why don't I port the Galaxy Note 8 instead. So with a bunch of foolishness, I downloaded the Galaxy Note 8 N5100XXBMC9_N5100OXABMC8_DBT Firmware, extracted, deodexed and zipaligned it and copied all the system/apps and the system/frameworks & system/etc/permissions and a lot of system/lib files & /media and /fonts folder, packed it in a pre-made note1 rom, edited the build.prop and set lcd density to 213 (as this is the density that the note 8 is using) and flashed it thru recovery. Luckily it booted and reached the Setup screen showing some errors which I ignored and just went thru the whole setup wizard sometimes rebooting itself and going back to the setup screen again until I finally made it thru the google setup page and eventually the homescreen and greeted with a very nice wallpaper. At this point, the systemui is not working, nor does wifi but telephony works so does mms. Gallery, Video Player, Music Player, File Manager, Splanner with pefect fitting Calendar widget, Email, Alarm, World Clock, airview and some other extra apps - all working fine with few minor bugs. Calculator, Snote, Quick Command, screenshot not working. So I immediately tried to activate multiwindows which is the feature I am after. Like the note1 and note2, just long pressing the back button activates the multiwindow bar. There are two modes to the multiwindow bar, dual mode and cascade mode. While the note 10.1 uses the systemui traybar to show multiwindow apps, the Note 8 uses the flashbar tray to launch multiwindow apps. There are some differences as you can see in the video. There are a lot of work to be done for a full port specially the systemui and wifi. I am not sure which framework files or lib files are hardware related so I am not sure if it is worth the effort to make a full port at all. But I learned some things doing this foolish thing and might give others the courage to try things, to learn, to explore even in the face of failure. I am still as noob as when I started learning about android 4 months ago. There is so much to learn and I am having a great time being part of an open system and a great community like xda. I would say there is so much more to learn here than in school. Pues no veo que tiene de novedoso. To lo que sale en el video lo hace mi note con una rom personalizada jb 4.1.2 (energy bean)
Excepto por el menu de ajustes que sera porque tiene los dpi cambiados... No soy un entendido en esto mucho, pero solo es mi opinion espero no molestar a nadie con ella Un saludo

Para eso están los foros no? Para poder opinar. Por lo que dicen, el idea sketch tiene algo distinto al del Galaxy note 2. El teclado es distinto y con diferentes modos de uso. El modo tablet es nativo, Yo tampoco entiendo pero para mi lo mas interesante es que el Noten 8 es un 4 núcleos y lo actualizaran mas alla que nuestro note por lo que alargaremos la vida de las actualizaciones con spen y Samsung oficial no? A mi eso me da mas vidilla.

No creo. Ademas eso de meterle la rom de un note 8 o un note 2 o un galaxy s2, lo unico que consigues es cargarte el telefono. Lo unico que creo que si pueden hacer es intentar hacer funcionar las aplicaciones innovadoras que traigan los dispositivas samsung nuevo...
No me hagas mucho caso pero nunca e visto eso de meter la rom de un dispositivo a otro diferente o parecido, lo unico que hacen son mod (personalizaciones) que se parecen mucho

No se puede poner una rom de otro dispositivo. Una cocinada parecida si y las app adaptadas si se puede. Poner una rom distinta es como intentar poner Windows a un radio cd

Yo tampoco había visto una rom cocina de un dispositivo a otro. Pero después de leer el artículo y ver como en el vídeo está funcionando la rom con fallos, pero funcionando y no son app adaptadas es la N5100XXBMC9_N5100OXABMC8_DBT Firmware, extracted, deodexed and zipaligned pues ilusión me hace.

En dispositivos donde los desarrollos oficiales, se adecuan a las salidas de ROM actualizadas, quizás no sea frecuente el portar ROM de un modelo a otro pero en los casos donde no hay soporte oficial, si que existe...
Caso HTC Flyer, donde nació con GB y se actualizo tarde y mal a HC y HTC dejo abandonada a su suerte esa Tablet de 7" con función teléfono y stylus tactil Ntriger (casi un antecedente del note 8) pues el JB 4.1.1. fue portado por Dexter en XDA a este Flyer con "bastante fortuna" desde un HTC HD

Hola, si que se puede portar, la prueva esta en que cuando yo usaba mi desire s (aun la tengo jeje) portaban las roms del desire x, del htc one v,etc...
Eso si tiene que ser un curro que no veas, pero poder se puede sl2

Portar no se puede y menos con un samsung driver cerrados otra cosa es que un cocinero con una rom la modifique y adapte pero siempre eliminando cosas y otras muchas que no funcionan o funcionan mal y tenga una apariencia parecida pero si no me creeis descargate la rom y metela en el movil......

Claro que se puede portar, lo que hay que tener en cuenta al portar es que los 2 terminales sean iguales o casi parecidos en el hardware

Portar si se puede... Con android y ganas y conocimientos se puede todo...
Tan solo hace falta que ambos dispositivos lleven el mismo procesador, y la misma version android. Osea no se puede portar una rom de htc gb a note jb sin embargo una rom htc jb 4.1.2 a un samsung jb 4.1.2 Normalmente se suelen portar rom de otros dispositivos de tamaño similar, para asi evitarse tener que sobredimensionar todas y cada una de los png. pero dentro de lo que cabe es posible. Yo llevo meses empapandome de todo esto de portar rom... y con un poquito de ayuda creo que podriamos hacer cosas muy interesantes... Saludos..
