[Tutorial] PORTAR ROMS CDMA en GSM

Buenas tardes, acabo de leer en XDA que ya hay un tutorial gracias a ybinnenweg para portar roms, modificando unos archivos que hay en el PDF (link en el artículo), me voy a trastear alguna.
Los ficheros que hay que remplazar, deben ser en la misma versión de android tanto en la rom CDMA como en la GSM, por ejemplo, si pillamos una ROM CDMA con sense 3.0, tenemos que remplazar esos por los mismos en una rom GSM con el sense 3.0

[TUT] Port CDMA roms to your GSM


After I've got some positive feedback in the Evo 3D general section, I will explain how I got the Evo 3D CDMA rom working on my GSM Evo 3D.

First of all I'd like to thank the warm team for figuring out what the exact differences are between the CDMA & GSM roms. Also thanks aamikam for making a hybrid CDMA/GSM rom, I've looked at this rom to find out what files to replace.

Now let's get to work!
At the bottom of this post I've posted a download link to a PDF file which contains the file structure of the "shooteru" folder in the "MikRunny v1.02" rom. You will need this to find out which files you need to replace; feel free to mirror it.
Once you open the PDF file you will see a list of folders with files in it. Those are the files YOU need to replace with the files of a GSM rom. Make sure you use files of the same version of android, if the CDMA rom is android 2.3.4 with HTC Sense, use GSM files of android 2.3.4 with HTC Sense. If the CDMA rom is AOSP android 4.0.1, use GSM files of android 4.0.1, you get the point I hope...

What I did to port the CDMA Android Revolution rom to the GSM:
1. Download the CDMA Android Revolution rom & download a android 2.3.4 rom with HTC Sense, in my case LeeDroid
2. Look at the file structure, and take all the files listed there from the LeeDroid rom, and replace the files in the CDMA Android Revolution rom. (If some files listed don't exist, don't worry just skip them)
3. Replace the boot.img(kernel) with the kernel of LeeDroid.
4. Compare the updater-scripts. (Check the blocks they format and change if needed)
5. Flash your ported rom, and see if it works!

This is all I did with the Android Revolution rom, and most of the hardware seems to be working!! I will post a download to the rom ported by me at the bottom of this post. All credits go to Android Revolution for this rom!!!

Of course not everything works, as the rom I ported still had the CDMA settings.apk I couldn't change the APN's so I didn't have a data connection. It also didn't see my wpa2 wifi network. These are things that you have to sort out, some things will work at once, others won't.

I would love to see CDMA roms getting into the GSM forums, and don't forget, if you manage to succesfully port a rom, ask the CDMA rom creator for permission to post it here and make a thread!

He intentado portar la super2.0 cn android 2.3.4 metiendo los archivos de leedroid 5.1.0 gsm y no me deja introducir el pin para la sim. Tendré que seguir testeando

me da un error ahora al instalar el zip en el recovery de cyanogen..
el siguiente error:

assert get.prop = "shooter"

ahi tendría que decirme shooteru ( que es el EVO GSM) y no el shooter (EVO CDMA)

Algo he leîdo x xda de alguno que si que la esta pasando si no ha terminado de hacerlo.

Pues yo he podido hacer mi propio port gsm de la Infected Eternity cdma ( una rom muy sexy ). Funciona todo excepto la videocámara. Seguiré probando...

Pues Virus que es el Dev de la rom Infected Eternity para el EVO 3D a abierto un hilo en XDA en el apartado para el EVO 3D GSM y no para de actualizar la rom, creo que no hace falta hacer un port de esta porque su creador ya esta en ello. Lo que no se que tal funciona, tengo que probarla.

Va bastante bien. Excepto por los fc de la videocámara. La cámara de fotos funciona tanto en 2d como en 3D.
Sé que está haciendo pruebas el tal Virus que es uno de sus desarrolladores. Pero lo que yo quería probar era el tuto de pasar cdma a gsm. De hecho, lo consegui antes de que supiera que él ya estaba testeando. Lógicamente, no tengo ningún mérito, pero he conseguido algo que hasta ahora no había podido hacer....

No te quiero quitar merito ni nada, solo te lo decía por si quieres hacer mas pruebas de portar otra rom que las hicieras con una que no estén sus desarrolladores en ello y así nos la puedes colgar para nosotros también. XD

Gracias t_mcpardi, no he pensado interferir en el desarrollo de esa rom. Ya he comentado lo que pienso en el post de ybinnenweg en XDA. Pero a mi me sirve para entender mejor el funcionameinto de las rom. Igual algun dia me pongo con las cacerolas, y las sartenes.....jeje.
