Presenting FroydVillain 1.0.0, TeamVillain's
Froyo ROM (Android 2.2)
It's been a long time coming, but at long last,
we have a ROM we are proud to release. Since I
(and as it has become, the team) have been
developing ROMs for the Hero, we've always
tried to be on top of the next big thing. As you
all know, Froyo IS the next big thing. Initially, I
put a lot of work into this ROM, and the beta
tests revealed that unfortunately, there were a
few hiccups; hence the delay. Pulsar, Kendon &
Ninpo have worked literally, around the clock
to try and resolve the issues found in the first
test release. What you see here is a joint effort
from the VillainROM team, and we're
personally delighted to have it on our phones.
We hope you are to.


IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING RELEASE
DATES
One of the things that made me so popular in
this community when I started developing for
the Hero was my timekeeping. Not only that,
but my honesty regarding what I was struggling
with, and how long it would take.
Unfortunately, of late, I haven' been keeping to
my self-set deadlines, and I dissapointed a few
too many of you. For that, I personally,
sincerely apologise. Please be aware that I have
been annoying our team just as much as I've
been annoying you guys, and none of it was
intentional. Work, and personal life has delayed
me on far too many ocassions, but there's
simply no excuse.
As of right now - I will no longer give release
dates via Twitter/forum. What I'll do instead, is
provide updates on a ROM's progress - and
operate an industry standard 'WHEN IT'S DONE'
philosophy.
Thank you for you understanding, and a again, I
apologise.


Now, to the ROM
FroydVillain 1.0.0 INFO & Release Notes:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
REMEMBER - The ROM will only be at peak
performance after it's been rebooted a couple
of times, and when you've opened your apps
once prior.
- As usual, as this is a major increment in ROM,
you'll need to perform a FULL WIPE of data and
dalvik cache; it is MANDATORY.
The ROM will likely crash until you do this.
- An EXT wipe is recommended, as you will now
be running Froyo (2.2), which has access to a
slightly different market apps selection.
- adb install won't work on this ROM, until you
tick "Unknown Sources" in the Menu > Settings
> Applications menu.
This appears to be a new security feature.
Similarly, apps pushed to /data/app won't work
either. You might not notice the issue, but the
app does not get any of its permissions it
should have, meaning that it is probably
useless, and might FC constantly or whatever.
So remember to tick the Unknown Sources box
The stock camera doesn't work properly - it
takes photos OK, but it doesn't do live preview.
The app " Camera Magic", which is free on the
market, works fine, so we recommend that.


RELEASE NOTES:
- Android Froyo 2.2 with all features, except
Flash 10.1
- Based on CM6 - Thanks to Lox
- All hardware (except camera - use Camera
Magic) seems to be working flawlessly
- Custom bootscreen
- Custom OC kernel (Thanks to Pulser, with help
of Kendon and Ninpo)
- Setup loop as reported in the beta test now
resolved (Thanks Pulser)
- Custom FroydVillain Wallpaper + some images
- Works with EXT partition
- All HTC & Stock Android Ringtones, message,
alarm, notification tones, etc.
- Great Open GL and overall ROM performance
- Fancy Widget (HTC style clock)
- Launcher Pro or new Launcher 2
That's all I can think of right now. Just play
around with it, and let us know what you think!
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Nandroid Backup
- Full Wipe
- Flash the ROM
- Boot
- Install SetCPU & set OC settings as usual
- Reboot
- Enjoy!

De momento no me pilla velocidad hsdpa solo 3G

le pongo la aplicacion de facebook pero no me deja sincronizar las fotos de los contactos ni linkarlos a los de facebook,es una lastima por que es una de las cosas que mas uso (el telefono, jajajajaj y con las imagenes reconozco a los contactos en un instante).
por el resto me gusta como va, pero aun estoy acostumbrado al sense, lo veo muy ligero el sintema, (pero tambien lo veo un poco espartano)

Version 1.0.0??? Vamos, que perfectamente podia ser una v0.0.1

Cuando alcanza la version 10.5.8 la probare. (Yo a esta rom le doy 3 meses de vida, luego su desarrollador la dejara de laddo)

En cuestión de rapidez y fluidez está de PM ..... al principio le cuesta un poco, pero despues va muy bien, me falta por probar el GPS y ver como va de batería....
