Project Update #65: 3rd Shipment List 1GB+8GB 2100MHz / Battery Pack / DHL / Extras Posted by Omate  Like Dear Backers, The Early Bird Developer Edition of the 1GB+8GB 2100MHz are all shipped however there are still some of them in transit. Once again, apologies for the delays. We are deeply grateful for your encouragement and support. We do apologize for not being able to answer every email but please understand that the team is spending most of its time in the factory and with suppliers. Technical Issue / delay: The TrueSmart are tested one by one before leaving the factory, one of the last batches of battery packs of the 1GB+8GB 2100MHz we received three weeks ago, did not connect well to the main board when we closed the battery cover, we have been working with our battery pack supplier to rework that batch as it did not pass our QC. None of the defective battery pack units have been shipped. The TrueSmart is a complex project and we must deal with long lead-time materials. This has affected our previous shipment plan but we will receive new battery packs on Monday and therefore we can replace them, pack the remaining TrueSmart and ship accordingly. Shipment Status / Update: • 512MB+4GB / 2100MHz: completed • 1GB+8GB / 1900MHz: completed • 1GB+8GB / 2100MHz: ongoing: will be gradually dispatched until the end of May / Beginning of June. As explained in previous updates, there are several weeks between first shipments and last arrival of each batch. We know that many of you have been waiting a long time from shipment to delivery (average is 20 days through USPS and Swisspost), we are now using DHL to move faster and the average lead-time will reduce from 20 to 5 days. Thanks for your patience. We really appreciate. It can be an app (Oapp), a ROM, a MOD anything which can enhance the Omate ecosystem. From that point, if you gather interest from the community we will hear about it and if it’s cool enough you will be granted a VID status (Very Important Developer), as a reward you will receive an early prototype of our future designs. We will organize a new #TrueSmartHackaton in the next few weeks. We want to make sure every developer gets its TS before organizing a new session. Each winner will be rewarded with a special Hacker Edition of the TrueSmart. These Limited Edition models will be marked with a customized laser printed battery cover + each winner will be granted VID status (Very Important Developer) and engineering samples of new product development of Omate in 2014. En los foros de los backers pusieron el enlace del clon hace un rato y parece que está bastante bien, le falta resistencia al agua, que a fin de cuentas, tampoco lo tiene realmente el Omate, y el precio es bastante ajustado. Sería cuestión de ver si alguien lo tiene y que opina, y éste seguro que tarda menos de 9 meses en llegar.... Ah! y pesa 73 gramos, mas o menos como la versión de aluminio de Omate, ya que el original son 100 gms.

Yo salgo en la lista.....
 Lo mejor es que los de dhl me han llamado que me lo traen por la tarde, hoy!!!!!!..... A las 17 h.... Me dicen que me lo han parado en aduana y 24,65 e. Me parece que me han dicho. Bueno reitero si alguien lo quiere es el developer de noviembre con 1gb RAM y 8 gb de ROM (esperó). Por lo que cueste finalmente ni un duro más. Contactos por privado.
