Es para pensárselo XD aplicaciones nativas apenas tiene, y el testo van a ser basadas en web/html5 por lo que con que funciona el telefono, el wifi y la camara...ya tienes el 50% del telefono operativo, no?

OJO, hay un zip en ese enlace que se llama quantal-preinstalled-armel+maguro.zip, lo he abierto y mirado el build.prop y es jb 4.2.1 y con referencias de cm10.1

Qué rabia, en windows 8 no me funciona el driver del fastboot .... a ver si lo encuentro y lo pruebo!

Me sumo a la espera pero de momento me parece que aun no es pertinente instalar UBUNTU no soy tan avanzado en temas de flasheo, así que necesito tutoriales claros... espero las impresiones

Pues para probar a ver que tal va vale, pero tengo serias dudas si una vez instalado y quieres volver atras no haya hecho algun estropicio en particiones y cosas asi que un usuario medio tenga serios problemas para volver a Android.
Lo que si va igual de lentorro que los videos buffff, aparte que como es logico no le van mas de la mitad de las cosas y las que vayan ya veremos como van, eso si no quita que como curiosidad acabemos instalandolo. De todos modos yo casi que me esperare a que algun guru le meta mano que igual hasta lo podemos instalar por el recovery como cualquier rom sin perjudicar lo que tengamos

Not to worry: we're finishing up the latest touches, testing that everything is rock-solid to get the final images and that the documentation is complete. Just a few hours to go until the images are there, so I'd suggest to wait until we publish easy instructions rather than having to jump through hoops to install images onto your phones and tablets  Vamos, que paciencia. Ultimas comprobaciones y lo cuelgan con instrucciones faciles para instalarlo.

En xda eng.stk ha puesto esto:

Flash quantal-preinstalled-armel+maguro.zip 5. Flash quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip (this one will take a while, grab some coffee  )6. Reboot (screen will go black but after a few seconds Ubuntu is up) 7. Profit  This install didn't wiped my sdcard. I just restored my TWRP backup after a short Ubuntu testdrive. If you are paranoid, just copy your stuf from SDCARD to your PC before flashing.
