yo acabo de aplicar el truco y la red de datos solo me pone E y no H como antes y por supuesto la velocidad de datos ha caido casi al nivel del suelo, de todas formas no se que pasa con orange que la velocidad de bajada no me llega ni a un mega.

Hola buenas, quizás sea porque la señal 3G que tenía antes era bastante débil. El hecho de que el 3G sea débil provoca un consumo considerable de batería ya que va a intentar constantemente buscar más cobertura 3G.
Al aplicar el truco, le da preferencia al 2G, ya que el 3G es débil.
Ventajas: menor consumo de batería al tener el 2G a tope y evitar que busque más cobertura.
Desventajas: velocidad de conexión muy muy baja.

P.D.: Yo antes era de Orange y su cobertura en interiores además de la velocidad de conexión no me convencía para nada, quizás sea un problema parecido al tuyo. En cambio, ahora estoy muy contento.

Gracias puronervio, la verdad es que con Orange tengo menos cobertura en casa que con Vodafone y quizás sea ese el problema.
Lo que he hecho ha sido instalarme Android Revolution HD 3.6.5 con Sense 3.0 y Beats Audio y si que noto menor consumo. Ahora mismo estoy escuchando música con el reproductor Beats Audio y es la leche la diferencia de sonido con el reproductor normal.

Me parece que, aunque hay gente que diga que la bateria le dura 4 dias, hay que empezar a admitir que los 1500 mAh de la Sensation no son suficientes para una pantalla como la que tiene, o su procesador de doble nucleo...

No hago más que encontrar quejas sobre el consumo de este bicho.

Hola a tod@s, lo acabo de hacer y estaba la bateria en el 83%, al ratito ya estaba en el 81% y seguire a ver que pasa, ya os contare si hay mejoras.

Hola, como no tengo ni idea y para contrastar he encontrado este post donde está magníficamente explicado el asunto..
Had to hear it from the horses mouth, I called up HTC's tech support. I asked what was the difference between WCDMA preferred and GSM AUTO PRL. The gentleman I spoke to told me that they both have lots in common and that the only difference is that WCDMA preferred will favor 3G and GSM AUTO PRL will favor EDGE.

He continued to tell me that WCDMA preferred needs to reach a low threshold to go straight into 3g from edge. GSM AUTO PRL has a higher threshold, or higher standard has to be met (db of 3g signal) before it will go into 3G.

He mentioned that gsm auto prl will save the user a bit more power because it wont force the phone to continuously hunt for a stronger signal. Typically this option gives our n1's a weaker signal and slower data speed. But he said it depends on our network in our city.

I also verified this information with t-mobiles tech support. They were a bit vague though. But they did mention that WCDA preferred will prefer 3g and that gsm auto prl is its complete opposite and will only prefer 3g if the signal is strong enough.

GSM only - The GSM phone is capable of using only 2G data communication. When the 2G signal is too low you get nothing at all.

GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) - Some phones are equipped with both GSM and CDMA capabilities. This setting appears to just have the phone attempt to stay connected to the data communication type that works the best. (Maybe the Samsung Galaxy S will take advantage of this???)
Unknown - If none of the above fit or the phone is acting weird as far as connecting to the carrier, you will see your preferred network type is set to this

When using the 'only' options you should still be able to make calls.

To put things into perspective, The Nexus One is set to WCDMA preferred as default and the Droid Incredible is set to CDMA auto (PRL).

tengo el htc evo 3d y es cdma y cuando hice el marcado me aparecieron las opciones y para sorpresa estaba seleccionada gsm auto (prl) porque si el telefono es cdma

se recomendaria cambiar el launcher? me fije que cuando tengo el movil en modo espera, me consume poquisimo, un.. 1% cada hora y media aproximadamente (sin usar 3g ni wifi), y cuando enciendo la pantalla para hacer cualquier cosa baja brutalmente el porcentaje de bateria, sera por el launcher? o eso no afecta para nada

Una cosa que no entiendo es que cuando vuelvo a marca para entrar de nuevo en esas opciones, vuelve a aparecer como marcada la primera opcion, como si no gurdase los datos, a alguien mas le pasa??Como se guarda esa configuracion por defecto??

Va muy bien el truco, Yo tengo enchufado todo salvo el BT y los datos, solo funciono por WIFI

Buenas tardes a todos, he hecho el cambio, y sin duda a mi me funciona, ha aumentado la duración de la batería y os cuento como lo he comprobado de forma bastante fiable. Realizo el trayecto Madrid-Barcelona y vuelta; realizando el viaje con pelicula (1 hora) y partida de ajedrez (40 min), 20 min. de whatsapp y una llamada, he notado un 25% más de bateria con la solución aportada. Digo que es bastante fiable porque durante el trayecto como podéis suponer la cobertura es muy escasa e incluso nula en algún punto, lo que implica que antes estuviera gastando más energía en la busqueda constante de 3G. No obstante la duración de las baterías es realmente baja para los dispositivos, me cuesta creer que no existan soluciones técnicas en el mercado.

lo que noto mucho es que navegando por wifi o navegando por 3G la diferencia de gasto de bateria es brutal, con wifi consume muchisimo menos (en areas con buena cobertura)
