Recordemos que cuando salió por vez primera WP7, se decía queWP7 NO soportaría muchas de las cosas que ahora vienen con Mango (y algunas otras ya brindadas por NoDO en este momento).
Es lógico que en este momento se concentren en el OS en sí (el cual está incompleto en tanto no llegue Mango), ya después de Mango tendrán más oportunidad de ponerle más atención al entorno.
Esto es parte de lo que se ha dicho en MSDN hasta ahora acerca del Adobe Flash Pleyer en Windows Phone 7:

Microsoft people have already said more than likely it is coming, just wasn't ready for launch. 2 years to develop a whole new platform and OS is not alot of time, so this is why certain features are coming to the OS as updates rather than delaying the OS' launch

Microsoft have confirmed that Silverlight and other plugins in browser will be supported when IE Mobile supports plugins. That is the missing piece of the puzzle at the moment.
This has been openly discussed here a number of times.

I wouldn't be too worried about what press speculation surrounding iphone and adobe has on windows phone 7. Jobs and Adobe vs Microsoft and Adobe are too completely different relationships with very little in common. As stated here already Microsoft have declared an open working relationship with Adobe and I see no reason for this to change.
