En XDA ha aparecido una respuesta de LG al problema del bootloader:

Please check below items.
1. Is your phone not branded, such as EU open or GE open.
A. We don’t support branded phone.
2. Check you binary version
A. If you download the binary image before we released the official binary(4/4), It doesn’t work.
B. 234 000(UK Open) and 262 000(GE Open) can be unlocked bootloader.
3. If you have already download leaked image through the web, then you must visit local customer service center. Because there is only way to reset information regarding boot loader to visit local customer service center.

El punto 3 es clave: los que hayan instalado la versión leak van a tener que acudir a un centro de asistencia al cliente para desbloquear el bootloader.
En XDA hay usuarios que a pesar de haber instalado la versión leak y de obtener el error de seguridad han sido capaces de desbloquear el BL.
En principio todos los que tengan las versiones EUR-XXX, 262-000 y 234-000 y no hayan instalado la versión leak deben poder desbloquear sus bootloader.
