jajaja, perdón por la troleada, aburrimiento.
Cómo está ahora el tutorial se puede seguir tranquilamente desde Windows Linux o Mac, el SO es redundante, pues solo se utiliza fastboot. Lo que difiere entre los sistemas operativos és la manera de instalar fastboot y esto no viene explicado. En ubuntu solo hace falta instalar fastboot desde un ppa como este:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot
y seguir con el tutorial. Si usas otras distribuciones, mira en tus fuentes o instalar el SDK de android.
Para windows no se cómo instalar fastboot sin tener que instalar medio SDK (es un palazo). Estaría bien incluirlo en el tutorial.
El otro método que sugieres para instalar directamente desde zips, es el que usa el multirom.
También estaría bién explicar cómo volver a instalar una imágen de android oficial, si se ha seguido el método #1.
