Secondly, concerning the recording issue, I kinda (as in I don't know whether this would be the correct way and the safe way) solved it by looking at this particular part in the build prop:

media.stagefright.enable-player=true
media.stagefright.enable-meta=true
media.stagefright.enable-scan=true
media.stagefright.enable-http=true
media.stagefright.enable-record=false
See that last line? Change "false" to "true", and reboot. Recording works. Experience may differ I have to add.
