During February we have seen lot of demand for Ainol Novo7 Elf and Ainol Novo7 Aurora tablets. As a result, Aurora (equipped by IPS display) is completely sold out and latest pieces of Elf tablet*(common TFT equipped) are vaporizing quickly.
A Slatedroid member pdw98 asked for delivery dates and discovered interesting news.*Whole message:
OK folks, here’s the real deal regarding the Ainol Novo 7 Aurora. It will soon be replaced by the*Ainol Aurora II. The whole “IPS touchscreen glass manufacturer is being replaced” (LG replacing Hitachi) is true. Presented below is ALL the current information that is available:
From “Leo” at uplaytablet.com: Recently all online stores are out of stock of Ainol NOVO 7 Aurora. That’s because Ainol is short of IPS screen and control board to produce Aurora. To deal with those problems Ainol is working on a new design of Aurora. In this new design, they will change the IPS supplier for better quality and larger volume. They will also change the CPU. The current CPU on Aurora is AllWiner A10. Although it’s called “Many-Core”, it’s actually a single core CPU – many core just means the CPU, DSP, and CPU cores are all together. Although it’s called “A10″, it is actually ARM A8 based. The new design of Aurora will be using a real dual-core ARM based CPU. It is expected that the new version of Aurora will be released by beginning of April.
From “Lisa” at spemall.com (summarized): Aurora II tablet coming out in April of 2012…LG touchscreen…true*1.2 GHz dual-core CPU by Amlogic…ICS 4.0.3…will come with*complete English software, manual and packing…$189.90
The Aurora II tablet that I discovered can be seen here at spemall.com:

I would like to say that I am not endorsing spemall.com in any way.
Hopefully this information will be of use to you.

Note, that HItachi IPS displays used in original Aurora caused some issues as dead pixels and*dark splotches. Seems this is the reason of replacing Hitachi by LG as IPS display supplayer.
