an update for those who ordered on GadgetFreakz:

Dear Valued Customer,

We are contacting you regarding your pre-order of the Ainol Novo 7 Aurora from us. Firstly thank you for your custom.

Unfortunately it seems we are set for a delay on these devices, beyond of that we originally anticipated. Ainol advised that there have been manufacturing issues with the casing which has caused manufacturing on a mass production scale to be set back by a week while these issues are addressed.

Any Aurora’s that are shipped from any supplier prior to next week will have been from the original first production of engineered samples which could possibly suffer from manufacturing defects; and of course won’t be stocking or shipping any of these ourselves.

Whilst the last thing we want to do is advise our customers of a delay on their much awaited pre-orders and although it is out of our control we will do our very best to make sure we have our orders dispatched as soon as physically possible.

As a gesture of good will to our new and existing customers that have taken a leap of faith in pre ordering with us we would like to show our thanks by offering a few free gifts worth £14.99.

This includes a free Android case, USB Car charger and Capacitive stylus pen.

What we can guarantee at this moment is that we will be honest with the current situation and keep all our customers updated, we quality control check all tablets prior to dispatch to ensure our customers receive a fully working device backed by our UK warranty and our custom setup that includes updating the latest firmware, tweaks and installing various applications and games to offer the best out of the box experience.

We sincerely hope this clears up any questions you have on your pre-order. If there are any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Of course we are more than happy to issue a refund at any point prior to dispatch, please simply reply to this email with your order ID to do so.

I asked Pandawill bout that email and this is what they said (not saying i believe it just relaying the information i was given): "Our first stocks of Aurora( after Chinese NY) was expected to come on Feb 6th while came on Feb 7th(GMT+ actually, because Ainol claimed that all tabs on 6th got problems on the screen( as the thread said" manufacturing issues with the casing which has caused manufacturing"), but Ainol have solved the problem. To get the new tabs before other sellers, our purchasing colleague had to wait all night at Ainol company last night. That's we can say that our new arrivals will come today as well. In the meantime you know who to blame if ship tabs with detects. It is seller's and Ainol's responsibility for all. Thank you. P.S. "Any Aurora’s that are shipped from ANY SUPPLIER..." was wrong."

Bueno según entiendo, el primer comunicado, de una tienda UK servida por ainol china, comenta que van a sufrir retrasos pq las unidades de aurora tiene un problema de pantalla y ofrecen unos regalos para calmar los animos. Luego Pandawill comenta que son cierto esos problemas pero que ya estan solucionados y que, ellos tienen stock de la aurora sin problemas de pantalla, pq dejaron a un chino en la puerta de la fabrica con un fusil para recoger las primeras unidades jejeje
Son cosas que pasan, hay mucha demanda y meten demasiada prisa a la fabrica que no da a basto. Lo positivo de todo esto es, que son las mismas tiendas las que informan del fallo y no los compradores, es decir, que no han enviado esas unidades defectuosas.
Digamos que la tendremos en Febrero, falta por concretar que dia
