Causa del problema del GPS, según xda-developers

El GPS en sí no funciona por alguna razón y usa el AGPS (basado en la celda en la que estés en ese momento), de ahí la precisión absolutamente horrible.

Since Nov 1st amazfit AGPS update is broken. The AGPS.ZIP files contain only the error "Bucket Not Found: Make sure you have created bucket in current region, request-id=xxx". So basically Amazfit is faking GPS by encoding your current location in the APGS file. Because of no valid AGPS file for days, GPS is no longer getting a "fix". AGPS updates are no longer visible at the watch, there recent firmware fix was to remove the message, that APGS is updating on the watch. So that you are not aware that there are multiple AGPS updates in a day. And because there script is broken on the server, you now have a useless piece of crap.

GPS should be able to fix without any AGPS updates. Amazfit are running an AGPS server, which is normal, and this is used to acquire a fix quicker, but if the server is not available (e.g. no internet connectivity for some time) then the GPS chip should be able to acquire satellites on it's own. The fact that it can't acquire any satellites without AGPS implies that the GPS chip is indeed completely broken, since it can't function normally. This also explains why often the watch worked in one location (where it last had a AGPS update) but if you take it some distance away it could not fix again. So they totally messed up the GPS and try and bodge it with AGPS.
This also means that the GPS in the watch will only work for as long as Amazfit maintain their servers for.
