A mi me contestaron desde VIVER...
Y dicen que no consume nada la aplicación en "background" y de querer cerrarla que tenemos que forzar la detención... en ajustes aplicaciones y en Todas pararla.

Keeping Viber open in the background simply means that once you open it, there's no need to close it. It will automatically run in the background once it's open. Even if you've select other applications.
Viber uses a minimal amount of your battery life while running in background. Not enough to notice. So don't worry.
However, if you have Android with OS 2.2+, then even with Viber closed, if you get a call, Viber will open automatically.
In order to actually close the application on the Android device, Enter"your device's" settings, select 'Applications', enter 'Manage application' then select 'the Viber application from the list and choose "Force stop".
