Comparison
VPlayer is free of the pop-up ads that annoy so many about Rock Player.
Performance-wise, neither is way better than the other. As a new release, the appeal of VPlayer has more to do with the fact that the developer, XDA-Developer forum member ABitNo, is being extremely responsive to feedback for changes, something people felt was lacking from the developers of Rock Player.
Being a first release (alpha), VPlayer is definitely rough around the edges, but ABitNo is quickly dealing with them.
As it stands, both players seem to exhibit the same issues - audio/video syncing issues when trying to skip through larger files, and playing more ‘difficult’ files (larger, higher bitrate, higher resolution) is generally buggy and laggy.
