¡Claro que funciona en KitKat! Pero presenta problemas en la aplicación que hace el root en el teléfono. Yo siempre he usado SUPERSU que obtuve aquí:

Tienes otras opciones para hacer root que no se si funcionen para el Viper4android. Reitero, hay que asegurarse que quedó bien instalado y está activo. A veces se instala y no está activado. Hay que destildar y tildar nuevamente para asegurarse.
