For now only a few features which were all present on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean are supported and will slowly be added back for Android 4.4 KitKat as time progresses. More details can be found at the official carbon site (https://carbon-rom.com/features/).

- Screen recording (brings "Unable to create output directory.")
- FC when starting the camera from Holo launcher: "gallery" has stopped; -> solution: delete the shortcut and create it again

Instructions:
Requirements:
- An hboot with at least 250mb on system. These include stock hboot or Alpha Jelly (250/5/182) hboot (credits @jmcclue (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4577482))
- A 512mb - 1.5gb EXT partition (EXT4 recommended) on your sdcard. Use this guide to create the partition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125513). Partitions made using other tools (CWM, Minitool Partition Wizard, etc.) will likely cause issues.
- The latest TWRP (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2595654) (credits @Chromium_ (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4883664)) or 4EXT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751258) (credits @madmaxx82 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=2295230)) Recovery. Old versions of CWM may cause issues.

Installation:
- Full wipe
- Flash ROM
- Boot rom and let it settle down (3-5 min)

Optimized Settings:
Please do all tweaks with caution!
1.UI:

Settings > Device/Display & lights > Wallpaper > Switch from Live Wallpaper to a static one (for achieving a better overall performance!)
Settings > Personalization/Performance > Enable "Force high-end graphics" (brings the highly desired translucent status bar -- at the expense of performance!)

2.Performance:

Settings > Personalization/Performance > Processor > Maximum CPU frequency > set to 1113 MHz
Settings > Personalization/Performance > Processor > Enable "Set on boot"
Settings > Personalization/Performance > Memory management > Enable "Kernel samepage merging"

3.Developer options:
First enable the Developer options by opening up "Settings > About phone" and then tap a few times on "Build number".

Settings > Developer options > Window animation scale > set to .5x
Settings > Developer options > Transition animation scale > set to .5x
Settings > Developer options > Animator duration scale > set to .5x
Settings > Developer options > Enable "Force GPU rendering"

Reboot to let the changes take effect.

Esta muy bien la rom, las roms carbon se hacen para muchos modelos de moviles, y suelo llevar mucho esta rom con el Nexus, se lo he metido a la desire y va bastante bien y con mucha personalizacion, no tanto como la beanstalk del otro hilo pero mas que suficiente

Hola llevo esta ROM desde ayer y la verdad que el consumo de batería se nota me dura mucho mas, pero la veo un poco lenta. Que me recomendais que haga. La instalación fue full wipe a todo menos a batería. Pero le falta algo de rapidez. Entro el en terminal y no me deja activar la sd.

El Holo Launcher este que trae incorporado parece un clon del Apex, o sea que me lo queda tal cual....

Se ha quedado congelada al actualizar e instalar alguna aplicación (con el Tapatalk sobre todo) y navegando con el "Boat Mini" despues de congelarse me ha dado un FC, tambien con el que trae de serie :(

Yo flaseo las GApps, pero con esta rom lo meto todo de nuevo , hay bastantes mejoras respecto a la primera, es mas estable y casi sin fallos, y mas rapido, el script que ponia del INT2ext no me iba bien, asi que le pongo el Mounts2sd que tambien recomienda el cocinero

al final la solución a sido abrir la rom(rc2), sustituir la aplicación dialer por la de la rc1 e instalar, ahora parece que todo va perfecto.

La he instalado y funciona muy bien,al principio me costo intentarlo un par de veces,pero ya todo perfecto, yo la desi la utilizo para poner listas de youtube en la tele, escuchar música y poco mas y funciona perfecta.

Perdona que me he equivocado con la carbon de mi otro movil del nexus, imagino que tienes el hboot bravo stock instalado, prueba con estas otras http://d-h.st/DGp, sino prueba a instalar la rom , reinicias, y vuelves a meterte en el recovery para flasear las gapps

Al final me ha vuelto a pasar, vuelvo a instalar y se vuelve a estropear. No se si instalando otra gapps mas antiguas me valdra o me fallara, no se que hacer.

Si al final ya lo he instalado como tu dices como 6 o 7 veces ya y no hay manera voy a ver si lo hago por separado porque la rom me funciona bien, voy a probar suerte y a ver que sale.

Revolutionary es el metodo para abrir el bootloader , imagino que te refieres a que tienes el Hboot bravo stock y que no lo has cambiado , sino te da error porque no entra la rom en la particion system, haz todos los wipes, y el format system , imagino que la particion la tendras bien , sino dara error al meter parte de la rom en la particion ext; de todas formas tambien descargalo otra vez por si acaso

Ok, si no pone nada es que llevas el hboot de origen, de todas formas si lo hubieras cambiado lo sabrias, porque hay que usar unas herramientas para cambiarlo, ademas al cambiar de hboot stock a otro te apareceria el nombre arriba, es decir si cambias a hboot cm7 , te pondria revolutionary CM7 ,etc , pero si llevas stock no pone nada solo revolutionary

No nada sigue el mismo error, descargue de nuevo la ultima Rom del link que colocas unos mensajes antes y nada no avanza. ya reparticione directamente del recovery 4ext, lo unico es que no hice ninguna particion Swap de 64mb, sera que hace falta eso......

Segun estuve leyendo en en XDA esta nueva version de la ROM requiere un Hboot de 400Mb Particion EXT4 de 1Gb a 4 Gb, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658853, asi que la cosa esta un poco mas dificil, voy a probarla aunque lo mas seguro me regrese a la evervolv

Segun estuve leyendo en en XDA esta nueva version de la ROM requiere un Hboot de 400Mb Particion EXT4 de 1Gb a 4 Gb, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658853, asi que la cosa esta un poco mas dificil, voy a probarla aunque lo mas seguro me regrese a la evervolv

No hace falta el swap en este movil, mira con las instrucciones de instalacion de aqui

instala la rom, despues reinicia y activa el A2SD con los comandos, y luego reinicia en el recovery y flasea la gapps y reinicia de nuevo y a ver si sale
