UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1 TF700 ONLY – INSTALLING TWRP 2.5 on 10.6.1.14.4

If you are currently unlocked and are coming from the updated 4.2.1 / 10.6.1.14.4 Asus Stock ROM then you will need to flash a custom recovery like TWRP:

If you are already rooted then use goomanager to install the latest TWRP via the menu and install open script

OR:

Download the Install Recovery package below, extract it somewhere and run the Scott's TF700T Recovery Install Tool.bat file whilst your Tablet is connected to your Windows PC.

It should install TWRP for you.

STEP 2 TF700 ONLY – I have a custom recovery installed but not the latest bootloader

If you are currently unlocked and on a JB 4.1.1/10.4.4.25 based custom rom like CleanROM Inheritance 3.x and have a custom recovery installed:

I recommend you install the appropriate Bootloader Recovery package below as the safest route to upgrade to CROMi-X. This can be flashed from any custom recovery

IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 1 MINUTE TO FLASH AND MOVE THE BLUE BAR TO FULL. DON'T PANIC!

After flashing your device will reboot back into your normal ROM but you will be on the new bootloader and have TWRP installed

Now proceed to STEP 3

STEP 3 - TF700 / TF300 / TF201 - I'm on a 10.1.6.x Bootloader and have a compatible TWRP installed

Download the package below and save to your internal or external SD Card.

Boot to recovery (Power and Volume Down and hit Volume up on the RCK icon in the 10.6.1.x bootloader screen)

Make a Nandroid Back up of your current setup

Navigate back up to install

Choose the CROMi-Xenogensis zip file and follow the instructions

Enjoy!

I recommend you do a full wipe if coming from another ROM. Choose Wipe – Factory in TWRP. Do not do a full wipe from the bootloader.

You can restore data from Titanium Backups but please do not restore system data or apps from a previous version or another ROM if you want a nice clean smooth upgrade experience.

Don't forget to do a Nandroid Backup first and give the ROM 10 mins to stabilise!

Señores, he realizado una instalación limpia (full wipe) y ......que diferencia. ¡¡¡Por fin!!

Todos mis lags y tirones que tenia antes han desaparecido. Va simplemente como un tiro y en el día y pico que llevo con ella, ni un solo error, FC o reinicio.

Estoy que me salgo. Ahora SI que puedo decir que esto funciona como debe.

Por cierto, la version de la cámara que lleva esta CROMI-X es bastante mejor que la anterior. Los de la actualización oficial se quejan amargamente de la aplicación de cámara, pero debe de ser otra distinta, pues esta es mejor que la que teníamos antes (sin ser tampoco para tirar petardos).

es lo que actualiza el bootloader y el TWRP a la ultima version (WW)

Luego ya bajate la ROM y flaseala como harias con cualquier otra. Y ya esta.

Exactamente como dice el compañero.

Flashea ese archivo y reinicia ( sin haber flasheado aun la rom ) espera a que cargue tu virja version, entra de nuevo al recovery y flashea la nueva version. Reinicias y todo correcto!

Recomiendo hacer full wipe y elegir el primer kernel que da el gestor de instalacion

Ni mas ni menos.Antes no me iba mal, pero tenia cosas que no me gustaban y que ahora han desaparecido.

Yo me ralle con el consumo de todas las cleanrom (y sin usar overclock) y me fui a cyanogenmod 10.1 y de bateria es una pasada lo que dura lo que pasa estoy con las nightlies que algun fallito tienen pero nada importante de reinicios y cosas asi. Vamos que para el dia a dia te vale o para jugar o trabajar tambien. y la bateria dura bastante mas en cualquiera de las configuraciones (performance, balanced o powersave)

Tienes toda la razón, yo aun no he puesto la 4.3 final pero en la 4.3b6 con el navegador de stock me pasa exactamente lo mismo que a ti.

En otros navegadores va bien... pero después de probar mucho el que mejor me va i mas estable es el de stock!

PD: Esta tarde me pondré la versión final me recomendáis que haga instalación limpia total?

Lo ideal es siempre un full wipe, pero viniendo de la 4.3b6, con hacer el davil cache y cache de datos, debería ser mas que suficiente.

Si solo te falla la pagina de marca.com, me inclino a pensar que la que falla es la pagina de Marca, no la ROM. Seguramente estará mal programada y no sera compatible con todos los navegadores o sistemas operativos....

He instalado la última versión 4.3 y en el quadrant no pasa de 5500. Esto es normal o debería ser mayor la puntuación?. Quiero decir que he hecho una instalación full wipe.
Por otra parte no noto una mejoría destacable. Los ficheros PDF tardan en cargar, las páginas web tardan en cargar, ect.

A mi hace mucho tiempo que los resultados del quadrant me dan igual, tanto en tablets como en móviles, ya que no me dicen nada. Es mas, las ROM se pueden modificar a medida para que esos valores sean mas altos.
A mi lo que me interesa es que la tablet vaya bien, fluida, con los menos lags posibles y las aplicaciones se abran en tiempo razonable. Y en este caso, esta nueva versión me ha dado todo eso que antes no tenia. Puede que sea porque la ROM es mejor o porque he realizado un full wipe, pero me va mejor y eso es indiscutible, a pesar de que el quadrant ahora es mucho menor en mi caso (ha bajado casi 1000 puntos).
Por eso te digo que me dan igual.
Por lo demás, sed conscientes que nuestra tablet es rápida, pero tampoco es un Intel I7, así que hay cosas que con la mejor ROM seguirán tomando su tiempo para abrir.

Buenas chavales... una pregunta.

Yo tengo la 4.2.1 sin haber abierto el bootloader... Para nosotros, ¿cuál sería el procedimiento?

- Abrir bootloader
- Actualizar bootloader (entiendo que en mi casa no haría falta porque ya tengo instalada la stock 4.2.1, ¿o me equivoco?)
- Instalar el recovery
- Instalar ROM

¿?

Si lo que vas a hacer es abrir el bootloader (te advierto, siguiendo tu consejo :-) ,que pierdes la garantia si haces eso), en ese caso tendrias que:

- Abrir el bootloader con la herramienta que la propia ASUS provee.
- Cargar el ultimo bootloader y recovery. Es el enlace que esta en este mismo hilo: 10.6.1.14.4 WW Bootloader and TWRP 2.5 DOWNLOAD (http://www.htcmania.com/g.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.androidfilehost.com%2F% 3Ffid%3D22909751817928748)
- Y por ultimo flashear la ROM CROMI 4.3 Final como harias con cualquier ROM, es decir, desde el recovery.

Instalada y todo correcto. Ahora la 4.2 me va igual de fluida que la 4.1. El principal problema para mi es que parece que el browser2ram no funciona según he leído y que la cámara stock nueva no me gusta, le faltan opciones que antes usaba. Si alguien tiene todavía la 4.1 a ver si me puede pasar la apk de la cámara.

I recommend you do a full wipe if coming from another ROM. Choose Wipe – Factory in TWRP. Do not do a full wipe from the bootloader.

You can restore data from Titanium Backups but please do not restore system data or apps from a previous version or another ROM if you want a nice clean smooth upgrade experience.

Don't forget to do a Nandroid Backup first and give the ROM 10 mins to stabilise!

Hola, estoy convencido de actualizar mi a sus infinity a Cromo 4.3 con los pasos que anexo a continuación copiados de este mismo hilo. Me surgen dudas de que lo pueda hacer mal y brickearla. Parto de la Infinity de serie actualizadas la versión oficial 4.2.1 ultima.

- Abrir el bootloader con la herramienta que la propia ASUS provee.
- Cargar el ultimo bootloader y recovery. Es el enlace que esta en este mismo hilo: 10.6.1.14.4 WW Bootloader and TWRP 2.5 DOWNLOAD
- Y por ultimo flashear la ROM CROMI 4.3 Final como harias con cualquier ROM, es decir, desde el recovery.

Los pasos anteriores son los correctos?
El primer paso se realiza sin problemas aunque en web de Asus avisan de que solo es para ICS ?
Los otros dos pasos tampoco dan problemas, no?
Por último creo que esta ROM viene ya lista para trabajar el navegador de serie o el Crome sobre la tarjeta se en lugar de la memoria interna, no?
No hago mas que leer y releer aquí y en el xda developpers, pero tanta información me satura y también la envergadura de la operación por las posibles consecuencias en la tablet.
La infinity me parece un tableton y con una ROM optimizada puede ganar mucho.

Yo siempre he metido odex, pero por mania. Segun los que entienden en XDA no hay diferencia alguna salvo que la deodex permite meter temas a la rom, y la odex no.

Si, al final no me pude resistir y la he probado.:-) Me recuerda a la CM10.1 para moviles.
Pero no me ha gustado mucho para la tablet, ademas que pierdes funcionalidades como la que decias, asi que la he vuelto poner en la original

otra cosa...viendo que sigo teniendo lags estoy por quitar el fsync pero, mi tablet suele resetearse solo una vez a la semana o asi...asi que me da miedo que en ese caso termine con el sistema de archivos corrupto.
Vosotros lo teneis quitado?, se os peta la tableta de vez en cuando? consigue limpiar el sistema de archivos despues?

Yo nunca lo he tocado el fsync. La verdad es que me va muy bien la tablet en esta ultima version 4.6.4 y nunca me ha hecho falta jugar con este parametro.
En cualquier caso, si tienes un backup realizado, en caso de que pete absolutamente, solo tendrias que restaurar.

A mi no me va muy bien últimamente, me quedé en la 4.4 y con el tiempo parece que se va degradando y se atasca mucho.

Creo que meteré esta version nueva a ver que tal.

Pero estoy un poco desilusionado con la rom , parece poco estable a largo plazo.

Por cierto, ¿El método para actualizar es el mismo que instalar la versión de cero? Es que yo para actualizar sigo los pasos para una nueva instalación, y aunque no hago el wipe de la partición /data lo que sí hace la instalación es un formateo de la partición /system y eso no me termina de convencer. ¿Hay forma de que sólo te añada los archivos modificados o actualizados?

La verdad que es frustrante. En casa tenemos una Bq de 100 euros que va más fluida... Yo como la 4.1 stock ninguna. Ahora le estoy dando una segunda oportunidad a la 4.2 con el mod data2sd. Ya os iré contando.

pues a mi me ha petado y ya no recupero...he intentado flashear otra vez la rom y nada, ahora lo intentaré con un wipeout completo y si no....tendré que buscar una nandroid antigua que tenga por ahi perdida para ver si recupero al bicho :-(.

Parece que con el borrado completo ha arrancado....a ver que pasa... Vaya mierda de tablet de verdad...estos de ASUS han perdido muchos puntos para mi.

No se que decirte. A mi no me ha pasado nada de eso y de hecho ahora me va bien despues de poner este parche.
El poner una rom siempre es un proceso delicado que puede hacer petar cualquier movil o tablet, asi que es relativamente normal lo que te pasa. Siempre es mejor hacer un full wipe, lo que pasa es que por comodidad no lo solemos hacer y luego se dan los problemas. Ya veras como ahora con la instalacion limpia que has hecho, ira de lujo. :-)

no...cuando se pone a actulizar aplicaciones o algo asi peta...y luego no he podido volver a arrancarla.

Estoy currando asi que no puedo hacer mucho mas...probaré a formatearla entera o algo asi o a buscar un nandroid backup.
Entiendo qu eel nandroid backup da igual si era de otra rom o otro kernel no?

Si, en ese caso lo que debes hacer es entrar en el modo recovery de la tablet y buscar donde tengas un nandroid backup hecho en el pasado.
Haces un full wipe y flasheas el backup.

Con eso te debería de funcionar perfectamente.

Hola,
como sabéis estamos en la version 4.6.6 de la CROMI. Pero ademas, han sacado un parche para subir a la 4.6.7 que en teoría soluciona los problemas de lag que estaba habiendo en la 4.6.6 (y efectivamente a mi me pasaban).

Os dejo el link al parche. Se flashea desde el recovery sin necesidad wipe. No es una ROM, es un patch (algo mas de 160 Kb):

Mirando en el hilo de xda de esta Rom vi la 4.6.8y la instalé también hay un parche para corregir cosillas que te la deja en la 4.6.9
No va mal lo único que cuando descargas algo del google play y quieres hacer mientras otra cosa da un poco de lag.

He conseguido recuperar la tableta con la nandroid....no sabia ni de cuando era...y resulta que es una CleanRom de febrero...en fin...

lo que no se es si con solo volver a restaurar el boot o algo asi me hubiera valido..., pero bueno, reinstalare otra vez todo de cero....vaya coñazo de tableta!

A ver, comentaros que he estado un tiempo con la tablet muy mal, tanto que quería volver a la stock (por no estrellarla :) )

Una de las pruebas que hice fue quitar todos los widgets y empezo a ir mucho mejor.

Creo que lo que me estaba dando por .... era el widget del tiempo de HDwidgets.

La he formateado y he flasheado la CROMIx 4.7 y de momento va muy bien.

Tiene el widget del tiempo de asus y todo ok.

Voy a darle unos días de margen...

Yo el unico problema que estoy teniendo ahora mismo (y desde alguna version atras) es que de vez en cuando, se enciende la pantalla aleatoriamente, como si hubieras pulsado el boton de encender para desbloquearla, solo que como no se toca, se vuelve a apagar a los 5 segundos.

El problema es que esta asi todo el rato y se va comiendo la bateria. Pero es algo que pasa de vez en cuando y no se porque. Es como si una app o un servicio tratara de levantar/despertar la tablet todo el rato.

En XDA hasta ahora todos los reportes son buenos. Soluciona el problema del consumo excesivo de la tablet cuando se enchufaba en el dock (teclado).

Esta viene con una muy muy interesante funcionalidad llamada cache2sd. Es similar a Data2SD pero con una sutil e importante diferencia: solo pasa a la tarjeta la cache (es por ello que la tarjeta debe ser rapida, clase 10 y de ser posible UHS-1). Data2SD lo pasaba todo, la aplicación, la cache, los datos, etc.. Este solo pasa la cache y no hay que hacer ninguna configuración complicada, simplemente activarlo.

A ver que tal va. Anuncian la release final de la nueva versión 5.0 con alguna sorpresa adicional para ya mismo.

Bueno, pues creo que me he cepillado la tablet. Cuando he pasado de la beta 1 a la beta 3, ahora la tablet no me pasa del logo inicial de ASUS (donde en la parte de arriba a la izquierda pone que el dispositivo esta desbloqueado) y se reinicia todo el rato. Entra en un loop.

Por lo que he leído, esto le esta pasando a mucha gente que pone un kernel que tenga OC (overclocking). En mi caso ha sido así. Siempre pongo stocks kernel pero en la beta 1, no se porque puse el de hundsbuah. Ahora, al flashear la Beta3 es cuando me ha pasado el problema.

En fin, ahora me espera o el usar soluciones complicadas que veo en el foro de XDA y que no tengo claro si solucionan el problema que tengo o llevar la tablet a SAT.

En cualquier caso y a modo de aviso, aconsejo no usar los kernel con OC visto lo visto.

Puedes entrar en el recovery? Si puedes intenta flashear una nandroid, a mi me funcionó cuando pensar q me lo había cargado y no funcionaba ninguna rom., solo la nandroid buckup

Si, puedo entrar en el recovery (en mi caso TWRP 2.5) y ya he intentado recuperar el nandroid backup. En realidad, todos los backup que tenia los he probado. Todos fallan cuando están recuperando la partición Data

Tambien he intentado flashear otras versiones estables de la CROMI, pero el efecto es el mismo, no pasa de la pantalla de arranque donde se ve el logo de ASUS.

Voy a intentar flashear el bootloader de nuevo a ver que tal.

Bueno, pues al final me ha ayudado un poco el cocinero de la CROMI y era muy "simple". Habia que volver a formatear la particion Data. Lo unico malo es que pierdes todo lo de esa particion, pero es un mal menor.

Asi que nada, resucitada ha quedado y ya he podido recoger mi corazón del suelo.

Por cierto, efectivamente el error venia provocado por la Hundsbuah, asi que no la pongáis de momento. Esta rectificando la ROM para que no afecte dicho error en el futuro.

Yo ahora tras unas semanas con el tablet fatal, parece que se ha estabilizado y me va más o menos bien... Así q por ahora me quedo como estoy a no ser q me digáis alguna mejora sustancial (no tengo su así q por ahora lo de cache para mí no aplica)

Si ahora te va bien, yo ya me esperaría a que sacaran la versión definitiva de la 5.0. Una vez la saquen y confirme la gente que va bien, entonces migraría con un full wipe de la versión 4 a la 5, para empezar con una instalacion limpia y asegurarte un buen funcionamiento futuro.

Mi opinión, o por lo menos así me ha pasado a mi, es que la versión 5 es mucho mejor, rápida y fluida que las versiones 4.x (y ademas arreglan el bug que había con la rápida descarga de la batería cuando se enchufaba al teclado/dock)
