Hola,
I am trying these instructions, these are the easiest (I have changed the instruction with the file names of our FW):
Solution:
1. Plug the SD in the PC, it should be at least 4Gb.
2. Format it with quick format unchecked using HP flash format tool (http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197).
3a. [Option 1] Use shareware winimage (http://www.winimage.com/) tool, from winimage, select Disk, Restore Virtual Hard Disk image on physical drive... selecting the microsd card, and the file "u-boot-config_fused.bin".
3b. [Option 2] Open HexEditor (http://mh-nexus.de/en/), extras, open disk image, select the file "u-boot-config_fused.bin" and open it with 512 byte option. Select Extras again, open Disk, and select the Removable disk 1 option with read only UNCHECKED. Now you have 2 tabs opened in HexEditor. Select and copy all (CTRL+A, CTRL+C) in "uboot_sd.bin", then change to the removable disk tab and paste from 0x0. Click save and exit
4. Windows will say "You should format your diver before use". Ignore the error, and insert the microsd card in your Dropad.
5. Power on the Dropad with the Volume up button pressed. The android green logo should pop up with the upgrade system activated - writes bootloader, etc to the 256mb nand chip.
6. Format the SD again with the HP flash format tool, Quick Format, and copy all the FW files.
7. Insert microsd card into dropad and power on holding the Volume up button.
8. Device boots normal and perform FW upgrade. If it fails try twice.
The A8X model has no internal SD card, so I am trying with the external one. No luck so far, so I would appreciate if you try too with different combination of SD sizes and FW versions. We need to work together to unbrick our tablets!
