M$' official response to the jailbreak:
We anticipated that people would attempt to unlock the phones and explore the underlying operating system. We encourage people to use their Windows Phone as supplied by the manufacturer to ensure the best possible user experience. Attempting to unlock a device could void the warranty, disable phone functionality, interrupt access to Windows Phone 7 services or render the phone permanently unusable.

First of all:
I don not take responsibility for anything!!! Do anything on your OWN risk!

Ingreedients:

A Windows-based PC, minimum: Windows XP SP2
THIS (http://walshie.me/ChevronWP7.exe)
Zune, and of course a Windows Phone 7 device http://forum.mobilism.org/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Preparation:

Make sure you don't have anything running on port 443. Close Skype and Trillian.
Make sure you have a FULL SYNC relationship, NOT just a GUEST
Make sure, your phone ISN'T PIN locked
You'll need an active internet or WI-FI connection: Fire up Internet Explorer, and go to HERE (http://chevronwp7.com/cert), and install the certificate.

The process itself:
Ok. So first open up the donwloaded ChevronWP7.exe file. May need to run as an administrator, if you're on Vista or 7.

You should see something like this:
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/11/chevronwp7.jpg
Make sure you have completed the steps above!!!

Then check the 2 checkboxes, as we already done them.

Ok, now come the tricky part. Cross-fingers, and hit the "Unlock" button.

That's it, if you're lucky you made it http://forum.mobilism.org/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

Troubleshooting:
I will post it in a Q&A format.

Q: How does this work? http://forum.mobilism.org/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
A: Magic... http://forum.mobilism.org/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif No. It's using Samsung's failure. Err.. Good failure in our opinion http://forum.mobilism.org/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif So it uses the Microsoft.Phone.InteropServices DLL, with the phone can run native code. Thank you Samsung http://forum.mobilism.org/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif The unlocker itself installs a certificate, which will allow the phone to be recognised as a "Developer phone" to side-load apps.

Q: Does the process is fully reversible?
A: Yes it is. You have to run the ChevronWP7.exe again to delete the *.cer file

Hey man, i've got a "connection error". What should i do, eh?
A: I bet you don't have the WinPho Devtools Installed. So, here's what to do.:
Download THIS (http://walshie.me/PhoneRegAdd.reg) registry key, and install it.
It contains:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsPhone \ProxyPorts]
“DeviceReg”=dword:000069C5

Please don't post topic like "How to jailbreak? Plzplzplz...". Read THIS sticky. I think it contains every information about how to unlock the phone, but feel free to ask.
Help me giving further information about the jailbreaking by participating in THIS (http://forum.mobilism.org/viewtopic.php?p=680761#680761) contest.

Thanks
-Reeedim

First Windows Phone 7 Jailbreak/Unlock Tool ChevronWP7
Requirements: New Windows 7 Phone
Operating System: Windows Mobile
Overview:Got a Windows 7 handset? Want to jailbreak/unlock it? Well, now you can … thanks to ChevronWP7.

ChevronWP7 is the brainchild of Rafael Rivera, Long Zheng and Chris Walsh, and it allow a WP7 handset owner to side load applications that aren’t allowed in the Marketplace due to the use of private APIs.

The tool is called ChevronWP7, and it’s a single executable file that you can be run from any computer running Windows XP SP2 and up. You will need to have the Zune Desktop software installed on your computer, and you’ll need to connect your phone to your PC with a USB cable.

Apple doesn’t officially allow users to install third party apps on iOS devices unless they’ve been approved by Apple and posted in the App Store (although there are third party app stores for jailbroken devices). Google has its own Android Market app store, but most Android phones can accept non-market apps when you check a simple option in the settings menu. So what about Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7?

It turns out that out of the box, Windows Phone 7 is at least as restrictive as iOS. The only easy way to install third party apps is to download them from the Windows Phone Marketplace — unless you pay $99 per year for a marketplace registration account (which basically gives you developer access… and clearly developers might need to install apps to test them before submitting them to the Marketplace).

But Long Zheng, Rafael Rivera, and Chris Walsh have developed a tool that lets anyone install apps without downloading them from the Market without paying for developer access. Thae process is often referred to as “sideloading.”
