Geotel Note: review, especificaciones y primeras impresiones

El fabricante asiático Geotel tiene nuevo terminal, de nombre Geotel Note. Después del rugerizado A1, vuelven a la carga con un smartphone de corte totalmente diferente, pero con la misma filosofía lowcost. Lo cierto es que por lo que vale, unos 80 euros, este Note está realmente bien.

Y este, el Geotel Note. La primera impresión es buena, aunque su aspecto nos recuerda a terminales de una o dos generaciones anteriores (tapa desmotable de plástico, muy brillante...). La trasera resbala un poco, al ser totalmente lisa.

Poco que ver en la parte delantera. Abajo, los botones están integrados en la pantalla, luego lo veremos cuando esté encendida.

Lo cierto es que el chasis sí es de aluminio y eso mejora algo su aspecto. En el lateral derecho tenemos toda la botonería. Abajo, botón de encendido y algo más arriba, el volumen. Estos botones, también de metal, tienen un tacto y recorrido adecuados.

Fijaos en la trasera. Totalmente lisa y de plástico. Muy brillante, refleja irremediablemente la luz (el fabricante lo llama "acabado MetalPrint").

Personalmente me gustan más mates, basicamente porque las huellas se ven demasiado en este tipo de superficies. Además, un ligero relieve le hubiera venido genial para mejorar el agarre. En la parte superior encontramos la cámara, de 8MPX, junto con un flash LED y lo que, a priori, parecía un lector de huellas, que finalmente no lo es... es sólo un adorno.

Tenemos una pantalla HD de 5.5 pulgadas con panel IPS y tecnología propietaria Trueview. Esta tecnología permite que los colores sean más saturados y llamativos, imagino que algo similar a lo que sucede con las Amoled.

Esto se consigue interponiendo un panel de alto contraste entre las capas que conforman la pantalla.

Este terminal cuenta con un SoC conformado por una CPU de Mediatek, el MT6737 a 1,25Ghz, junto con una GPU Mali 720. El sistema corre con 3GB de RAM y 16GB de ROM. Se trata por tanto de una configuración modesta en cuanto a potencia pero totalmente solvente para ejecutar apps cotidianas sin ningún problema. Los 3GB de RAM le dan un plus de suavidad que no encontramos en otros gamas de entrada.

La cámara principal de este terminal es de 8MPX (interpola a 13MPX) y la verdad, cumple con creces para lo que se puede esperar de un terminal tan barato. Buena nitidez y buen desenfoque, sobre todo en ambientes bien iluminados. Si no eres muy exigente, te bastará.

El Geotel Note es tan barato que no se puede decir mucho malo de él. Su precio es inferior a 80 euros. Se trata de un aparato de buen aspecto, con 3GB de RAM, pantalla llamativa y cámara decente. ¿Se puede pedir mucho más?
