Ulefone Metal: análisis, especificaciones y primeras impresiones

Llevamos ya algunas semanas trasteando con este nuevo Ulefone Metal, un smartphone de gran aspecto, prestaciones sencillas y muy buen precio. Aún siendo un gama de entrada, tenemos características interesantes como los 3GB de RAM o un procesador octacore. Sobre todo lo primero parece ya un estándar de facto actualmente. Vamos a verlo.

Esta es la caja del producto.

Y este, el Ulefone Metal. Es relativamente pequeño y compacto, su pantalla es de 5 pulgadas. El frontal no presenta nada especialmente destacable, más allá de unos bordes quizá algo más redondeados de lo habitual.

En la parte inferior tenemos los habituales tres botones Android, no retroiluminados. Nos gusta que lo sean.

El chasis es de metal, como bien sugería el nombre. En el lateral derecho tenemos toda la botonería, también de metal. Arriba volumen y abajo, encendido. Todos los botones tienen un tacto y un recorrido adecuados.

En el lado opuesto encontramos el slot para las dos SIMs o una SIM y la tarjeta de expansión de la ROM. Se trata por tanto de un dispositivo unibody.

En la parte superior vemos unicamente el jack para los auriculares.

Fijaos que los laterales son algo más estrechos que la parte central. Eso hace que a simple vista el terminal parezca más estrecho de lo que realmente es.

Este Metal monta un procesador MTK6753, octacore a 1.3Ghz, junto con una GPU Mali 720. El sistema corre con 3GB de RAM. A nivel de procesador cumple y permitirá mover practicamente cualquier app sin mucho problema, aunque desde luego está muy lejos de otros smartphones más potentes. Los 3GB de RAM servirá para otorgar un extra de fluidez a todo el sistema.

La cámara trasera es de 8MPX y viene firmada por Sony, en concreto monta un sensor IMX149. Se mueve entre el bien y el notable, aunque flojea en escenarios más pobres de luz. En ambientes iluminados se comporta muy bien. La delantera es de sólo 2MPX, aunque interpola a 5MPX.

Sobre el wifi, este se comporta de la manera esperada, sin destacar especialmente en ningún sentido. En la prueba realizada con la app "Wifi Analyzer" nos hemos conectado a una red de 2,4Ghz y a un router que está a unos 10 metros, con un par de muros entre medias.

Este Ulefone Metal es una interesante opción para aquellos que deseen un teléfono compacto, de buen aspecto y buen precio. Sus prestaciones son estándar y se encuentran hoy en día en multitud de smartphones. Su aspecto sí me parece más destacado y algo que puede decantar la compra entre este u otros aparatos. Recomendado si se consigue a buen precio.
