[ CONSULTA ] Hilo para dudas técnicas y características del RAZR

Abro este hilo, para que quien tenga dudas o consultas sobre determinadas características de este terminal, las Focalice en este post.

Las dudas resueltas hasta ahora:

1. TIENE LED para notificaciones- Tricolor
2. Libre viene con el BOOTLOADER desbloqueado
   • -> NO tiene el bootloader desbloqueado. (Hay muchos temas metiendo presion a motorola para que ahga esto mismo..)
3. Es un teléfono prácticamente estanco para el tema de la protección de salpicaduras (aparte de llevar una capa de nanopartículas repelentes del agua), así que la batería va integrada y no se puede retirar, salvo por el servicio técnico.
4. Para hacer un HARD RESET, pulsar unos segundos el botón de encendido y una de las teclas de volumen.
5. SI Tiene radio

Es resistente a la humedad y salpicaduras, y en principio no necesita las tapas, por la capaque recubre todo que es repelente del agua. De hecho las especificaciones que mantenía en no se que escala de estándares, es que era sumergible a un metro (obviamente un reloj que por standard pone eso, no me baño con el ni de coña XD pero bueno está muy bien, para quedarte tranquilo si hablas bajo la lluvia, o para llevarlo a correr o si por accidente se te cae en un vaso o algo)

Oh! genial! si tiene notificacion y encima la carcasa con nanoparticulas repelentes de agua! es que pff, para mi es mucho mejor telefono que el nexus galaxy, ahora solo me quedan dudas con la cámara... siendo motorola... a saber la calidad a pesar de ser 8mpx por ejemplo yo tengo el optimus 2x con 8mpx y mi samsung galaxy el primero de todos I7500 con cámara de 5mpx saca fotos muy buenas no me atrevo a decir mejores pero muy iguales...

Perdonad pero ¿dónde veis que tenga radio? En la pagina de especificaciones oficial no pone nada y he repasado los vídeos y no he visto en ninguno la aplicación de radio ni cuando muestran todas las aplicaciones preinstaladas

In some ways, Motorola had its thunder stolen out from under it with the relaunch of the RAZR brand. RAZR used to be iconic, and clearly Motorola’s hoping that some of the positive associations that the brand used to have will transfer to its new handset.
Motorola launched the RAZR on the same day as the Google Galaxy Nexus, another large and high-end Android handset, but one that has the critical market advantage of coming preinstalled with Ice Cream Sandwich. The RAZR’s just “plain old” Gingerbread at this stage, and while Motorola’s fast-tracked to become part of Google in the near future, that doesn’t guarantee that the RAZR will see Ice Cream Sandwich any time soon. It’s an Optus exclusive locally, available on contract starting at 43 €/month.

What We Like

The thin design. Sure, it’s a little spoilt by the bump at the top that houses the camera and ports, but it’s still an impressive bit of engineering to look at. The bump also makes it relatively easy to hold up to your ear without the phone slipping away. That’s an important design note, as this is a huge handset that won’t suit everybody — more on that later.
It’s also a relatively fast phone for most tasks, and the qHD screen looks gorgeous when playing back video and viewing photos. The fact that Motorola’s made MOTOBLUR more of an add-on than a mandatory part of the phone’s setup process is a definite plus. If you’re a fan of MOTOBLUR — there must be someone out there who is — you’re welcome to it, but here on the sane side of the fence, it’s nice to be able to ignore it.

It’s also a nicely robust unit. The back is Kevlar, the front gorilla glass. It wasn’t present on my preproduction review unit, but the final units should also be coated in a treatment that makes the RAZR actively water repellent. It’d still be a bad idea to take it swimming, but it should mean it’s a phone that can survive the odd bump or splash.
The camera is decent. Just decent, not spectacular, with a very slight tendency to wash out photos when taking quick snapshots.

What We Don’t Like

The thin design. Yeah, I know, this was also in the “what we liked” section, but bear with me. It’s impressive engineering to be sure, but the wide size of the phone, and especially all that wasted bezel space means that you’re still holding a wide phone even if it’s relatively slender. The thickness of the phone doesn’t do a whole lot to aid in ease of use or holding, and the bump means you’re rarely going to aesthetically appreciate its thin nature. Against the flat back of the similar Samsung Galaxy S II, the RAZR feels paradoxically fat.
Here’s some size comparison shots to give you a rough feel of the RAZR’s size, but trust me; you need to get actually hands-on with one to work out if it’s right for you.

That damn bezel. At first, I was just a little surprised to realise that the screen display doesn’t go to the curve at the edge. I’ve now moved on; it’s become that damn bezel. Damned, because it’s a damned shame that it’s there; without it the RAZR would be as thin, but the width would be significantly reduced. Either that, or it’d sport a slightly larger screen, justifying its width. Either way, it’s a crying shame this isn’t so. This is more than just aesthetics; the larger size of the handset makes it trickier to hold when using the camera, as an example. It’s not a problem that everyone will have, but it has to be said; don’t buy the RAZR on sight. Pick one up and make sure your hands are comfortable with it beforehand. In the interests of balance, I should point out that the same is true of the HTC Sensation XL, and will presumably be true for the Galaxy Nexus too.

General stability. I’ve got to tread a fine line here, as the model supplied to me by Motorola was noted as a preproduction unit, with specific mention made of the fact that it lacks the water resistant coating that the final models will have. Fair enough, and I’ve been doing my level best to keep it out of nearby suburban swimming pools. Still, I’ve hit instances of lag and apps crashing with the RAZR, and that shouldn’t be ignored. How much of this is due to it being an early unit is all but impossible to say; I’d hope the final units don’t spend quite so much time waiting to declare (for example) that there’s no response from the Android market.

Verdict

Most phones sell themselves on a mixture of design and features. The RAZR’s feature set marks it out as a high-end phone, but what’ll either sell it or make you scorn it genuinely is the size. If you’ve got larger hands and you want a high end phone it’s a decent choice, as long as you can tolerate that bezel. It’s not alone in the market — there’s an obvious comparison point with HTC’s Sensation XL, which I’m testing at the moment, and the Galaxy Nexus, which I’m hoping to test very shortly indeed.
Would I swap the Galaxy S II for the RAZR? The RAZR’s got a better screen and a better chance of getting Ice Cream Sandwich, but I’d still say the S II pips it purely on physical grounds. That damned bezel gets in the way, making it an uncomfortable phone for me to hold. That aside, it’s a good phone, and Motorola’s been a bit hit and miss when it comes to quality handsets in recent years.

Mis conclusiones al leerlo..

Pros:

- Es robusto (aunque el móvil de la review no es la versión final, no cuenta con las nanopartículas repelentes al agua ni el vidrio cuenta con Corning® Gorilla® Glass).
- Diseño les gusta/es delgado, y parece que para manejarlo en llamadas es cómodo (pero no tanto para hacer las fotos) ;)
- La pantalla para fotos y video se ve muy bien.

Contras o no pros, por llamarlo de alguna manera:

- La cámara es decente... no es espectacular.
- Se mete un poco con que el móvil es ancho... y grande, que no todo el mundo puede adaptarse a ellos (para mi que tiene mano de un crio de 6 años el pollo x"DD).
- No es de las mejores reviews... no le gusta al pollo desde un principio :P

mira lo que ha pasado con los iphone 4s y las baterías, si es cierto, que no creo, puede ser por algo instalado o vete a saber, porque justamente lo que presume, no es sólo la capacidad de la batería excelente, si no, la excelente gestión de la batería que hace el software, pudiendo configurar hasta lo menos pensado de cara a que ahorre batería.

Vamos a ver las opiniones de la gente que lo vaya pillando, siendo optimistas, es la ventaja que tenemos con ser el culo del munid, podemos ver lo que van pensando los demás durante una semana mínimo antes de comprarlo, pero vamos creo que va a ser justo al contrario, que la batería va a estar bien, aunque también te digo que conque pueda estar un día tranquilo hablando y navegando, que cuando me acueste lo ponga a cargar y al día siguiente otro tanto, me sobra, ya me he acostumbrado a eso la verdad...

la radio, ya lo pregunté yo y me comentaron que si, ahora, lo que me ha llamado la atención es que hayan dicho que no lleve auriculares, eso me parecería bastante mal la verdad, pero si al final se confirma me temo que va a ser un recorte por la crisis (edito: SI LLEVA AURICULARES)

Parece que no está claro el tema, a ver si encuentro el análisis que comentaba, de momento este es más reciente y no lo tienen claro:

Se supone que es una súper amolde mejorada, que utilizaba otra tecnología, que no era el pentyle, pero bueno, lo que importa es cómo se vea (lo del pentyle tenía pros (visibilidad en cualquier circunstancia) y contras(lectura de algunos textos))

Underneath the mirror-like sheet of Gorilla Glass is a 4.3-inch 960 x 540 qHD Super AMOLED Advanced panel. How exactly it differs from Super AMOLED Plus isn’t clear, but we do know that it does away with the controversial PenTile matrix. (Update: There seems to be some confusion as to whether or not the screen sports a PenTile matrix, we’re waiting on clarification from Motorola and will update when we hear back.) We didn’t have any major complaints about the display, but it didn’t quite live up to our expectations either. It was sharp, contrasty and bright enough to satisfy, but had a slight green hue that was very apparent at lower brightness settings. It also couldn’t match the brightness produced by the old-school TFT LCD on the Droid X or the IPS panel on the iPhone 4, though, its contrast levels were noticeably better.

A green hue might indicate the use of PenTile Matrix in the 4.3-inch 960×540 Super AMOLED Advanced display. The probability is high though since there are few if any RGB-stripe LCDs with a 960×540 pixel format.
I do a fair amount of reading text on my iPhone 4 so excellent text rendering is essential. Poor text rendering means a poor reading experience. The PenTile Matrix system is quite an innovation in that it separates the physical layout of the sub-pixels from the logical: different sets of sub-pixels are used to generate a logical pixel on the display. The only problem so far seems to be poor text rendering especially at the edges.
The really interesting development is the use of PenTile Matrix displays for Windows Phone 7 smartphones. You see WP7 touts beautiful typography and that’s where PenTile suffers. The Droid RAZR uses Android, which Verizon markets as more of a multimedia smartphone. So the use of PenTile might not be such a big deal for the target audience.
