SO you tried to unlock the bootloader using the ICS method before doing the ICS update? When you go into fastboot mode you see this

"Bootloader v0.03.06-ICS(LockMode): Starting Fastboot USB download protocol"

correct?

can you get adb working? if so try this:

1) boot the tablet to fastboot mode
2) run adb on the pc and type the following command
fastboot oem unlock
3) you should then see a lock on the tablet, unlock it
4) type in adb
fasboot reboot-bootloader

you should now have an unlocked bootloader and see

"Bootloader v0.03.06-ICS(UnLockMode): Starting Fastboot USB download protocol"

then follow the steps I posted on the first page of this thread.
